Many soon-to-be brides and grooms in China are calling for civil affairs authorities to work one extra day on Feb 2, a Sunday, so they can tie the knot on the special day, a perfectly symmetric date. 许多准新人呼吁民政部门在2月2日那个周日加一天班，方便他们在这个特别的"完全对称日"里领证结婚。
The date, which is written as 20200202 on the Chinese calendar, is the same when read backward or forward. 今年2月2日在中国日历上的写法为20200202，正着读反着读都完全一样。
Besides, Chinese people often like to get married on an even date as they believe that good things come in pairs. 除此之外，中国人通常喜欢在双数日结婚，因为相信好事成双。
Therefore, the date has been labeled "the best day to get a marriage license" by netizens. 因此，2020年2月2日这一天被网友称作"最佳领证日"。
In response, civil affairs authorities in 12 cities, including Xi'an, Chengdu, and Wuhan, said they would work overtime to register newlyweds.作为回应，包括西安、成都、武汉在内的12个城市的民政部门表示2月2日当天将安排加班，为准新人办理结婚登记。

An academic study led by a former Bank of England economist has pinpointed the precise age of peak unhappiness in the developed world as 47.2 years old and in the developing nations, 48.2. 近日，前英格兰银行经济学家大卫·布兰奇弗洛尔牵头的一项学术研究精确给出了发达国家和发展中国家居民最不幸福的确切年龄，分别为47.2岁和48.2岁。

China's GDP is expected to near 100 trillion yuan in 2019, with per capita GDP of more than $10,000, Ning Jizhe, deputy head of the National Development and Reform Commission, said at the annual meeting of China's macro economy. 近日，国家发展改革委副主任宁吉喆在中国宏观经济年会上表示，2019年我国国内生产总值(GDP)预计接近100万亿元，人均GDP预计将首次超过1万美元。
Ning said that in 2019, economic indicators such as consumer price index, newly added jobs, resident income, and renminbi exchange rate all maintained at reasonable levels. 宁吉喆称，2019年居民价格消费指数、新增就业、居民收入、人民币汇率等经济指标均处于合理区间。
China's per capita GDP exceeding $10,000 not only means income of China's people and enterprises have increased, it also marks a significant progress in human history, Ning said. 我国人均GDP超过1万美元不仅意味着国民和企业的收入增加，更是人类历史上的重大进步。
He said, based on data released by the World Bank in 2018, there were 1.6 billion people with per capita GDP above $10,000. 根据世界银行2018年发布的数据，目前人均GDP在1万美元以上的人口达16亿。
As per capita GDP of China, a nation with nearly 1.4 billion people, exceeds $10,000, a total of 3 billion people will enter the ranks, which will play a positive role for the whole world. 随着我国这个拥有近14亿人口的大国的人均GDP超过1万美元，全球将共有30亿人进入这个行列，这将对全球具有积极的影响。

西宁路面塌陷九人遇难
The sudden collapse of a road into a sinkhole in Xining, Qinghai province, on Monday killed nine people, authorities said. 有关部门表示，13日青海省西宁市突然发生的路面坍塌事故已造成9人死亡。
The accident happened at around 5:30 pm, when a road section collapsed on Nandajie Street. A public bus fell into the hole and an explosion ensued, according to the city's emergency management bureau. 西宁市应急管理局表示，13日下午5时30分左右，南大街一处路面发生坍塌事故，一辆公交车掉入坑中，之后发生爆炸。
An investigation into the collapse is underway. Local authorities said at a news conference that more than 1,000 rescuers participated in the effort to save people. 路面塌陷的原因仍在调查中。当地政府在新闻发布会上表示，已安排1000余人参与救援。
The Ministry of Emergency Management has dispatched a team to Xining for rescue and investigation, the ministry said. It also urged governments to roll out corrective measures to prevent road collapses in urban areas.应急管理部称，已派出工作组赶赴西宁指导事故救援和调查，并督促各地政府出台整改措施，防范城市出现地面塌陷的情况。
