修辞倒装(上)

为了达到某种修辞效果而进行的倒装就是修辞倒装。比如，He did not say a word.（他没说一句话。）改为Not a word did he say.（他一句话都没说。）后面的这个句子就属于修辞倒装。

修辞倒装用于强调的几种情况：

（1）把某一成分放在句首。

A flying saucer it certainly was. 那肯定是飞碟。

Of education he had hardly any. 他几乎没有受过教育。

（2）把带有否定含义的词语放在句首。

Never will I make that mistake again. 我绝不犯那样的错误了。

Not until yesterday did he change his mind. 直到昨天他才改变了主意。

Hardly had he fallen asleep when he felt a soft touch on his elbow. 他刚一入睡，就觉得什么东西轻轻地碰了他的胳膊肘儿。

（3）在so强调形容词或副词开头的某些句子中。

So small was the mark that I could hardly see it. 记号太小，我几乎看不见。

So fast does light travel that it is difficult for us to imagine its speed. 光运行得如此之快，我们很难想象它的速度。

（4）在以“only+状语”开头的句子中。

Only then did I realize the importance of the prevention of the disease. 那时我才认识到预防疾病的重要性。

Only in this way can a good result be achieved. 只有这样才能取得好成绩。
